Designed by Jakaan Architects for clients Di & Jonny, this striking barn style home sits tucked at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, on a narrow and unusually shaped block — a challenge that became a creative opportunity.
Clad in a refined combination of Weathertex WeatherGroove and vertical Klip-Lok steel, the home’s gabled façade draws your eye from the street while setting the tone for the clean, modern palette used throughout.
Inside, polished concrete floors flow through to a custom built kitchen & pantry, forming the heart of the home — made for entertaining. A wide, turfed lawn runs off the alfresco, ready for backyard cricket, family catch ups, or the two much loved dogs who rule the roost.
Jonny & Di built this home as their return to the area — close to extended family and now with the space to host them. Their build is not just a house but a thoughtful and welcoming space that reflects their lifestyle and vision.

We’d heard so many horror stories about building, so we were naturally wary at the beginning of our build. Upon meeting Brendan and Amanda for the first time, we had a good feeling about them - our instincts turned out to be completely accurate. Our experience has been incredibly positive (which we know is a rarity!) and we cannot recommend them highly enough.
To try and put some of that positive experience into words:
• Outstanding quality of work - Brendan is a perfectionist and takes a lot of pride in his work. Everything was done with so much care and attention to detail.
• Communication - we were easily able to contact them with any questions or for expert advice. Brendan and Amanda were always clear and timely in their communication, which we very much appreciated! Even post-build we have been able to keep in touch about any issues that arose.
• Accommodating - they were very flexible in accommodating for variations throughout the build process, and even provided lots of practical and creative suggestions along the way. Amanda was incredibly helpful in researching and helping us choose finishes that fit in with our aesthetic and budget.
• Personable - Brendan and Amanda are authentic, easy-going people. It was so easy to work with them and we were on the same page from day 1. They always had our interests at heart and genuinely cared about our satisfaction with the build. They even guided us through all of the administrative hoops.
• Problem solvers - there were so many points along the way where we faced speed bumps, but Brendan and Amanda always worked hard to find the best solutions possible and present us with options.
